Be A Church With Biblical Standards

18 May

A church in which the Bible is not the standard of faith and practice – a Church in which repentance, faith, and holiness, are not prominently put forward as essential to salvation, – a Church in which forms, and ceremonies, and ordinance not commanded in the Bible, are the chief things urged upon the attention of the members, – such a Church is in a very diseased and unsatisfactory condition.

Amen! This dawned on me slowly over several years and caused me to confront the rulers of my former church and lead my wife to a church that is faithful to the Scriptures in all she does and the mean and methods thereof. We have both been amazed at the difference. When Christ is exalted and Scripture is held as sufficient, the souls of the saints are blessed.
