"neglected in their poverty and old age, who were honored by all when they were rich and young"

Where is this truth more evident that in those in the circle of Hollywood? Yesterday's stars are tomorrow's tabloid fodder. The culture loves to idolize, cheer and worship the Spears, Woods, Colemans of the world until they dare to act human. Then we love to throw them on the trash heap and look for the next rising star we can bow down to.

contrast this to the church (the good, Biblical one). Those who have walked the longest with the Lord, have the most wrinkles and gray hair-these are our everyday heroes. We go to them for counsel. We go to them for a model of Christ like behavior we can emulate. We don't dare think they are past their prime and worthless. They are precious and more valuable than the flashy young preacher who has so much to learn.

thanks for this post! great truth.

It is so comforting to know that Christ never change and that we can count on Him. I just wish that I would remenber it more often, so I would not believe the lies of Satan and fall into severe depression. Depression that brought me close enough to commiting suiside. I have been so much better since I am reading the Bible and getting to know Jesus's will for me. Thank you all who use their wisdom and knowledge to help bring the Words of Christ to life. God bless you all. Amen.
